UV Germicidal Lamp Installation

UV Germicidal Lamp Installation And Service in Ocala, The Villages, and Nearby Areas

Did you know that the inside of your air handler or evaporator coil is the perfect environment for biological growth to develop? It’s cool, damp interior makes the perfect spot for mildew growth. Many people are shocked when we open up their air handler or cased coil during a preventative maintenance only to find significant amounts of biological growth. When we tell people the negative impacts of the bio-growth on their coil and cabinet, everyone always asks, “What can you do about it?”. An easy solution to significantly reduce growth on the inside of your air handler or cased coil is a UV Germicidal Light system.

Often referred to as “Stick Lights”, the UV germicidal lamp generates an Ultraviolet light that kills bacteria, mold, viruses and bacteria. These systems mount near the evaporator coil of your system where they shine directly on large portions of your coil and cabinet. This kills pollutants as they arrive and also treats the air as it goes by. Even higher MERV filtration systems aren’t capable of getting everything as it goes by. Some viruses and bacteria can be as small as .022-.3 microns, which can bypass even the best filtration systems. Thankfully, the UV light generated by these systems damages the DNA of many small microbes, killing the organism. UV Germicidal lights can also reduce some odors like smoke, fumes, and vapors by breaking down these compounds.

There are numerous UV Germicidal Lights available out there for your Air Conditioning and Heating System. We know which ones provide the best results and come with the best warranty. If you want to upgrade your AC and Heating system with a UV Germicidal Lamp, call us today for a free estimate! UV Germicidal Light By Carrier

UV Germicidal Lamps come in different sizes and in single or dual-bulb configurations. Here is an example of two UV Germicidal lights manufactured by Carrier.

Isn’t A Good Filtration System Enough? Why Do I Need A UV Light in my AC System Too?

If you aren’t good about changing your filter, or if you use a low-quality 1″ Filter, indoor air pollutants like dust, mold spores, viruses, and bacteria can actually bypass your filter and collect on your coil. Overtime, this buildup can lead to significant performance and efficiency loss, it can even be detrimental to your health. Investing in a high-quality air filtration system like the Trane Clean Effects or Infinity Air Purifier can make a huge difference in preventing this buildup from occurring, but you can’t stop some of the smallest pollutants from getting through.

UV Germicidal Lights help kill these smaller organisms. The smaller the organism, the less time is needed to damage the organism’s DNA. The best way to ensure better Indoor Air Quality in your home is installing a combination of IAQ products to cover your bases. Not only will installing the Ultraviolet Germicidal Lamp improve your air quality, but it will also help maintain efficiency and performance too by preventing buildup.
